
Maria is a licensed attorney in Colombia graduated from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and is currently on her third year of the joint degree J.D./LL.M. in International Law at the University of Miami School of Law. She led the University of Miami’s team in the International Commercial Arbitration competition MootMadrid 2018 as the team’s Editor, where she was awarded Third Best Oralist and Second-Best Plaintiff’s Brief of the competition. Her positions as Treasurer in the International Law Society and member of the Hispanic Law Student Association at the University of Miami guarantees her a close contact with the local Hispanic community and with international lawyers from all over the world.
Maria primarily assists the Firm’s immigration department with investment and employment-based petitions for clients from Latin America. Her fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, as well as her Colombian upbringing help in overcoming any potential cultural or language barriers with clients. She is passionate about working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and helping them reach their personal and professional goals.
Maria’s experience in Colombia of over five years in corporate law, probate, estate planning and family law makes her an important asset to the firm in assisting clients to reach their goals in the United States while taking into consideration their particular circumstances abroad.
